Brand & Product Designer · Mexico City

I design for quiet brands that want to be remembered.

Selected work from the last three years — brand identities, product systems, and the occasional book cover.

Hello

A short note before the work.

I'm a brand and product designer based in Mexico City. For the last six years I've worked with small consumer brands, software companies trying to act more like consumer brands, and a few publishers who still believe in covers.

What I'm best at: identity systems that hold up under scale, typography that has a point of view, and the boring craft work that makes the difference between something looking professional and something feeling alive.

Patrón Coffee. A small roaster that wanted to feel like one.

A full identity, packaging, and retail system for a single-origin coffee roaster in Roma Norte. The brief: feel local, feel old, feel new — somehow all at once.

Patrón Coffee · the brief

A second-generation roaster trying not to look like every other third-wave coffee brand.

Where we started

The category had collapsed into a single aesthetic.

Minimal sans-serif. Muted greens and pinks. Pastel watercolor blobs. By 2024 every independent coffee brand in Mexico City looked like the same Squarespace template, and Patrón was being mistaken for two competitors.

"Make us look like we've been here for forty years, not like we opened last Tuesday."

Initial brief, Patrón founders, October 2024.

Around the work

A short list of what I've been thinking about lately.

Recent writing
  • On boring on purpose. Why I deleted half the type system after I shipped it — and the brand got better.
  • The patient designer. A small note on rounds three and four, which is where the work actually happens.
  • Drawing your own type. A short field guide for designers who think they can't draw letters. (They can.)
Reading / Talks
  • Talked at OFFF MX 2025. "Identity for small brands that don't want to feel small." Video on offfmx.com.
  • Re-reading Lupton. Thinking with Type for the fourth time. It keeps getting better.
  • Studying Werkplaats Typografie graduate work. The most interesting design school output of the year.

Working together

Currently taking two independent projects for fall 2026.

If you're building something small and want it to feel inevitable, write me.

Best fits: small consumer brands, publishers, second-generation companies looking for an honest refresh. Not for hire on logos-only briefs or pitch competitions.
